Pediatric Dentist

Summary

Red Square Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special healthcare needs. The ideal candidate will create a positive, comfortable experience for children while delivering high-quality, age-appropriate dental treatment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive, periodic, limited, and emergency dental examinations.
  • Diagnose dental conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide preventive and restorative pediatric dental care.
  • Perform procedures such as fillings, stainless-steel crowns, pulp therapy, space maintainers, and extractions.
  • Evaluate dental growth, development, and eruption patterns.
  • Identify orthodontic concerns and provide referrals when appropriate.
  • Review and interpret dental X-rays, medical histories, and diagnostic records.
  • Provide behavior guidance using age-appropriate communication and approved clinical techniques.
  • Educate parents and guardians about treatment options, oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Explain the risks, benefits, and alternatives associated with recommended treatment.
  • Obtain informed consent from parents or legal guardians.
  • Provide emergency dental treatment when necessary.
  • Treat patients with special healthcare needs within the dentist’s training and experience.
  • Administer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, sedation, or hospital-based care only when appropriately trained, permitted, and credentialed.
  • Refer patients to other dental or medical specialists when appropriate.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with dental assistants, hygienists, orthodontists, treatment coordinators, and administrative employees.
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, infection-control, and practice safety requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and quality-improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric dentistry residency program.
  • Current and unrestricted Texas dental license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • PALS certification preferred or required based on assigned clinical duties.
  • Current DEA registration when required.
  • Appropriate sedation permits and credentials when sedation services are provided.
  • Professional liability coverage as required by the practice.
  • Strong clinical judgment and pediatric behavior-guidance skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to ethical treatment recommendations and high-quality patient care.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
