What Are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges are a reliable solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. They work by “bridging” the gap using a custom-made prosthetic tooth that is supported by the surrounding natural teeth or dental implants.

Bridges not only restore the appearance of your smile but also improve your ability to chew and speak properly. They help maintain the natural shape of your face and prevent nearby teeth from shifting out of place.

Each bridge is carefully designed to match the color, shape, and size of your existing teeth, providing a seamless and natural-looking result.

Procedure Information

The dental bridge process is typically completed in two visits. During your first appointment, the teeth next to the missing tooth are gently prepared to support the bridge. Impressions are then taken to create a custom restoration that fits comfortably and blends with your natural smile.

A temporary bridge may be placed while your permanent one is being crafted. At your second visit, the custom bridge is securely fitted, adjusted for comfort, and bonded into place to ensure a stable and long-lasting result.

Post-Op Care & Recovery

After your dental bridge is placed, you may experience mild sensitivity or soreness for a few days as your mouth adjusts. This is normal and should subside quickly.

With proper care, dental bridges can last many years while keeping your smile healthy, functional, and natural-looking.
